Khouloud Bustami

Biography

Khouloud Bustami, Vice President and Sr. Department Manager in the Shareholder Services Department at Capital Group in Irvine, has a passion to activate, inspire and help develop people to reach their highest potential. After growing up in Syria, and completing her degree in business administration, Khouloud immigrated to the United States in 1985 with only knowing the languages of Arabic and French. Through a great deal of perseverance and hard work, Khouloud embarked on an inspirational business journey of 30 years that led her from a Client Services Associate in the Shareholder Services Department with Capital Group in 1990 to becoming a Vice President and a Sr. Department Manager in 2003. In this role, Khouloud provides oversight for the delivery of operational support to American Funds Financial Advisors and Shareholders. Khouloud actively takes part in “Leading Women in Leadership” at Capital Group which focuses on developing women in leadership within the organization.

Outside of Khouloud’s professional career, giving back to the community and supporting non-profit organizations is dear to her heart, especially organizations geared towards serving fellow immigrants just like herself and women empowerment.   Khouloud’s story of acculturation and finding success is great motivation to fellow immigrants who are doing their best to reach their highest potential and become contributing citizens, which is why Khouloud has made it part of her goal in life to share her story and provide best-practices in attaining success. As a speaker, Khouloud teaches women on topics such as wellness, personal branding, navigating through change, and increasing influence. Khouloud also educates community members regarding career planning specifically around the financial services industry as well as empowerment for girls to become leaders.

Khouloud currently serves as Board Chairperson for Access California Services, a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to serving all underserved communities through wrap-around health and human services. Khouloud is also a Board Member for New Horizon, an independent Islamic school in Irvine, California.
